I'm reading a lot of hate about him, however ....

I liked his OPENING stand up each episode, and I liked quite a FEW sketches here and there ... Seriously, he was likable, and his show wasn't bad ... but, and as people compare him to Chapelle, Dave was more "cutting edge", and broke a lot of "race boundries" that needed to be cut when his show was on ...

I HONESTLY can see where people don't like "Mind Of Mencia", and, again, I didn't like all of what he put on his show, however, there really was a subtle genius to some of it ...

Bottom line: I liked probably HALF of any given show, minus his stand-up intro, which I always liked ...

I just think he should have been less "I'm a Beaner", and more topical/relevant and I think, personally, it'd been a hit ...

Again, I'm reacting to what 20 or so threads have complained about, and I'm not disagreeing, he could have done more, and STILL pulled the "beaner" card; he seemed to stop there and cease to be uhm, how do I put this tactfully ...
... socially relevant BEYOND being a "beaner", and never took his "vehicle" to were it really should have gone ...

He's a BRILLIANT man, he's a BRILLIANT comic; he just got caught up with "beaner" *beep* and not enough with "I have a show and can really project a message and use this for "the better good"/"I can really get good points across" ...

I hope this makes sense ...

It's a shame, if used properly, it could have been a great show ...
