Is he going to an adult jail? or juvi? If it's an adult jail he's going to be hating it. first timer doing four months in County lock up is really tough on a young person. The poor kid will be doing Tyrone's laundry.

I just learned of that actually. I had to go somewhere right before so I didn't watch the rest...it's a good thing he's going to jail but he basically killed that poor kid.

reply

I think it was just. The man he killed was not a "kid". He was an adult that just got back from Iraq. He has seen War and is mature enough to be responsible for his actions. He didn't wear a seat belt by his own choice.

I saw something on TV today where they were questioning Nicks failure to see the passenger seatbelt light warning. Nick's car was a customized tuner car, one of the first things you do is pull out the stock seats and belts, but in bucket seats and racing harnesses. They don't have sensors. Even if they did his passenger was an adult. I feel bad for him because he is in a coma but he knew what was going on. We have all been young and driven recklessly.

It would have been different if they had slammed into some innocent people. Don't discount 8 months in the California jail system. Especially for a high profile inmate.

If they don't give him population separation (which they usually don't do for men celebs or not) like the vacation they gave Paris Hilton, between the MS 13, 5%ers and various other groups he is in for some very bad times.

reply

Nick is not doing his time in California he is doing it in Florida. Thats why he got any jail time at all Florida is strick while the California justice system is a big joke. Even if you do get convicted in Cali as long as your not Paris Hilton you only do about 10 percent of your time.

Also Nick has it good. Right now he is in a single cell in the medical ward becauce he is the only ajudicated inmate doing time in the facility. He is turning 18 in July however so Im not sure if he is going to be moved to the adult part or kept where he is because he was sentenced as a juvenile.

Even if he does go to the adult jail it may not be pleasent but its not Oz he will be just fine.

I have done a night in a Florida jail. I am/was a "normal guy" not spoiled, not a gang member. Just a guy who made a stupid decision getting into a fight with someone at a bar one night. The "fight" was really nothing more than a shoving match but there just happened to be a cop nearby and the bartender called it in. But jail is jail, don't think it isn't dangerous because it isn't Oz (prison). I wore the pajamas (blue not orange in FL) and brought there after a transfer from the cop car in ridiculous ankle and wrist connected shackles like I was Hannibal Lechter. He will be going to a South Florida jail. They are 3 times as bad as the Central FL jail I went to. Don't think the Juvenile system is some Saved by the Bell trip either, a lot of the "juvi's" are 200lb+, 6'+ with violent criminal backgrounds. Oddly, the guards were as bad as the inmates, they treated you like crap even if you did exactly what you were told, but that is another story. Ask Robert Downey Jr. how easy life was as a celeb in general population. He got the *beep* beat out of him and his charges where just drugs, not violent crime. My experience was just one night, 8 months? Nick better find friends fast.

Again as someone who has been to a Florida jail, (read my previous post) don't underestimate it. Plus he is going to a SOUTH Florida jail, don't let the brochures of South Beach, celebrities, models in clubs and beaches fool you. South Florida is one of the most violent places in the US. It is like comparing Compton to Beverley Hills just because they are both in LA county.

It does matter who got hurt and whether or not he had premeditated intention. That is what the different levels of murder/homicide are for. They want to separate the serial killers from just dumb kids. With a screen name like "silliestmom" and your opinions I get the feeling that watching "Oz" on HBO is as close as you have ever gotten to understanding the penal system.

I am not proud of my night in jail (ashamed actually) but with $2000 in fines (separate from lawyer fees) for a blue jump suit and a crappy "dinner", not to mention I was in far more danger than my crime deserved I paid my cost and wasn't a burden to society (actually a profit). It does bother me that people that have no idea what they are talking about are trivializing Nick's sentence.

Well hopefully Nick will learn that just because he's Hulk Hogans kid doesn't mean he gets off scot free. He did something horrible and now he's paying the price. Whether it's too long or too short...he's going to do his time.

Actually, I just saw on the news last night that Nick has been moved to the general population section and he has three other cellmates.

guitar_fun, you were in for one night and you are acting like that makes you some kind of expert on Florida jail time. You remind me of that gag in comedies where someone acts like they have been doing something for a long time, and then it turns out it has been 10 minutes or something.

8 months in jail is a long time for a kid who make a stupid mistake. The Victim was an adult war veteran who had done this street racing (according to reports) with Nick and there buddies many times. So he knew the risks involved and shoulda been wearing a seatbelt. I feel very VERY bad for the Victim. He was obviously a great guy and it's extremely unfortunate, but let's not take 2 lives here.

And please people, let's not just cough at 8 months like it's nothing. He will come out a changed man, you can almost guarantee that. Unless he finds himself an Aryan Brotherhood or Nazi Lowrider daddy, that 8 months will seem like life.

yes, yes I do. He did not do it on purpose. I have to argue that John willingly got into the car and since he was the adult should have been mature enough to get out of the car before the wreck happened.

reply

....yes, because John Graziano is actually The Amazing Kreskin in disguise and knew that Nick would cause that horrific crash.

reply

EXACTLY!!!!! I meant that he should have gotten out when Nick was about to start racing. He knew that was dangerous. Given Nick's record he should have had a clue that something bad would happen.

reply

Sure, just jump out of a moving vehicle.

Answer the pepperoni.

reply

So he was forced into the vehicle then?!! So he was actually kidnapped?!!! Try reading my post. Oh, sure try actually spending the time. I said to get out before he started racing. There was a plan he knew there was drinking and what not involved. I do not get into a car with someone drinking and he should not have either. Maybe he could have called a cab? Or are you going to argue that would be too hard?

reply

You know, I used to kind of think that too. That they were being to hard on Nick, because the guy was an idiot and got into the car, etc. etc. But someone pointed out to me that the bad judgment of that individual does not negate the fact that Nick Hogan did something illegal, that he broke the law, that he's acting selfish, that he was completely irresponsible and negligent. Because honestly, that kid is not on trial here- he's paid his price, but do you know who was on trial? Nick Hogan. And plain and simple, he is an arrogant, irresponsible kid who thinks he is above the law, and he needs to be shown that he is not. And the fact that he is no acting out in a selfish manner, only thinking about himself while his friends life is ruined, only thinking about how he can make money off of his "misfortune" makes me lose any sympathy for the brat I ever had.

Well said, Rasputin Phoenix.

So, just because John got in the car with Nick means he deserves to be a vegetable the rest of his life? No.
And I'm sure all of us haven't worn our seatbelts at least once in our life.

Linda was crying to Nick about how SHE is SUFFERING MORE THAN JOHN'S MOTHER.
I'm sorry, but this family is crap. They are selfish, self-centered pigs. They only care about how much money they are going to make.

Like Rasputin Phoenix said, all Nick is a spoiled brat, who thinks he's above the law, and I'm glad he realized that he is NOT.
