This movie was so slow, I turned it off. The back-o-the-box advertised a shocking conclusion/twists & turns. Were there really any? I'm just curious. It seems like more and more I read that on the descripts of boring movies...trying to hook you to watch 'til the end?

And the guy just wanted to know what happened at the end - which IMHO was neither shocking nor a twist so he didn't miss much.
I agree! I've been on here (IMDB) mostly to praise movies or to get some questions answered, but yes this is a discussion board and not a fan board.
That being said Timothy Hutton is my favorite actor. I think he was excellent in this film, but it just moved along so slow, it was actually difficult to get through... and I often enjoy movies "like this". Unfortunately the advertisement of a "psychological thriller" was anything but, however the twist was interesting. I feel that Gary thought he had nothing to lose and in a way, taunted the guy to shoot him. You can see by his hesitation, he was thinking about just allowing this stranger to end his depressing life.
The other main characters (Bill & Stone's character) were nicely portrayed!
