*SPOILERS* I thought the 'Hisao' movie was so sad...

It's just so tragic she committed suicide because she wanted to be with her son... you can tell her son's spirit was sad because his photograph was crying. I don't know, words just can't describe how tragic that is. I know it was just a movie, but it was so emotionally moving for me.

I agree, this segment was very well done. The way the mother went on speaking to him as if he were still alive, asking what did he want for dinner and so on, just tore my heart out. I must admit, I'm hooked on these films. I just bought the four-DVD boxed set and I'm happy as a clam!

I'm glad to see someone who shares my view.=) It's hard to find a discussion board for this movie!

I have a Japanese mother and I thought of her when I saw this scene... =-(

Yes, it is difficult to find others, and I'm not sure why. The DVDs are readily available at any shop that carries Asian cinema, to say nothing of the Internet, so it's not like they're hard to find. People just don't know what they're missing.

Oh, indeed, "Hisao" is absolutely sad and moving.
Actually, the only short films I liked where the first, "Nightwatchmen's Report" and the last, "Hisao".
I haven't seen the series, because in my country, it would be WAY TOO EXPENSIVE to buy through ebay or sites like that the DVD Box Set, and most of what's online, is such a terrible mess with the translations names.

Please excuse my terrible redaction, english is not my native language.
