This film reminds me of that. Mom and daughter move into creepy old apt.bldg. And things start to happen. In D.W. it was the girl & the backpack. And here it's red shoes. And the dance element. Ala, Michael Powell
And the shoes aren't even red. They look to be the color of "Ultra Pink". Or,"Shocking Pink". What up with that?

I kept thinking it was the same apt. from Dark Water. From what I remember of that movie, they looked identical. I could be wrong though, it's been a few years since I saw it. And I wondered about the shoes. Maybe a mis-translation of sorts?

I'd say it was fluro pink but i also agree with how it reminds me of Dark Water especially when they move into the apartment the daughter looks up at the ceiling(but of course she was looking at the light) just like the other daughter looking at the puddle of water on the ceiling in Dark Water.
I much prefer Dark Water to The Red Shoes. Yes, the shoes are pink but maybe by 'red' the translators are hinting at the blood-letting that happens as a result of wearing the shoes?
