I don't understand the scene where the blood starts pouring from between the little girl's legs. What happened? Was this just something the mother hallucinated? Was she sexually abusing the girl? All i have read is people saying it was because the father had sexually abused her but I think that is reaching... and I don't think if there is anything in the movie that suggests that ever happened.

I just saw this tonight (on lovefilm) and I couldn't rewind it because the rewind feature is iffy on my Blu-ray player. I just couldn't fathom at all what was going on, at first I'd thought that the girls legs were being cut off...

I have no idea. It wasn't an hallucination because the daughter was actually taken to the hospital, although the doctor didn't say anything at all regarding her or what happened.
Nothing in the film ever makes the viewer think of sexual abuse.
