just finished watching the series. it seems like they didn't want to prolong the story after mu-hyeok's death, and decided to leave the rest to audience's interpretations.

i don't think that mu-hyeok wanted his mother to know, after knowing that she had to suffer a lot. because it would break her heart to know that she had her son with him all the time, and had been ill treating him. that's the reason he paid money for the book not to be punished. so no one, even yun, would like to tell her now. (even if she had known the truth before mu-hyeok's death, it would had done her no good, as she knew about his condition)

yun's decisions from the beginning were unsteady. he thinks of committing suicide in one instant and gets cheerful in the next. so why he changes his mind, doesn't remain important, as the question about child's father.

i don't understand mu-hyeok's being buried in australia myself. perhaps, they wanted song eun-chae to be back in australia to experience a bit of past again.

The reason why he wanted to be buried in Australia was because it was like his true country. He never felt comfortable about being in Korea anyways. And I think he wanted to be in Australia because if his body were ro remain in Korea, it would constantly remind Eun-Chae of her deceased lover. Thus, being in Australia would mean that she wouldn't get to see his grave as often as she would've liked. Moo-Hyuk didn't want Eun-Chae to even think about him anymore because it would just depress her.

And like you said ^^, the kid's father was not important, it never was, and I don't ever even remember wanting to know who it was.

He didn't tell his mom the truth because it would have just devastated her even more. Who would you save? Your dying adopted son who you've known all your life and loved dearly, or your true son that you thought had died at birth that you've actually been treating like crap? Tough decisions that he did not want his mother to go through. And he understood that it was not her fault and forgave her. A part of me really wanted to see his confession to her (I just love super sad stories and situations) and see all the pain she would go through, but then a side of me was happy that she didn't have to go through anymore pain since it was not her fault. Although I still think she should have been punished for treating anyone the way she did to Moo-Hyuk, no one deserves crap like that!

My theory of why Yoon decided to take the heart is clear and simple. He is a selfish bastard...He never changed throughout the show (he "Discovered" his love for Eun-Chae, but was still his greedy old self). He wanted the heart because he knew it would help him live, and now he could be alone with her without Moo-Hyuk's distractions.

The animated version of this drama covers the bit about Mu-Hyuk's heart. Yoon does recieve it, and there is this incredibly sad scene in which Eun-Chae presses her ear against Yoon's chest just to hear Mu-Hyuk's heart beat.

The animated version is terrible. How do you condense a 16 part series into 35 minutes, and then add English subtitles that made no sense? I bought the anime and didn't care for it at all, except that the music was pretty (the DVD comes with a separate CD soundtrack). It did make me curious to see the real life drama it was based on and I'm glad I checked it out because it was awesome. One of the most addictive series I've ever watched.

I disagree that telling the mom about her twins would serve no purpose. Despite the mom's mean-ness of "I'm a celebrity" if you pay close attention to her actions, she treated Eun Chae's family - her "help" better than most celebrities do. Yes,she used Eun Chae for whatever Yune wanted, but look at how Eun Chae's sisters are not banned from free run of her and Yune's portion of the house and the sisters call Yune "Oppa" and she didn't put them in their place. And even though she UNNATURALLY dotes on Yune, she never interfered in his love relationships despite his troubles with slutty Minjoo being plastered all over the news. Nor did she try to tell him that he couldn't marry Eun Chae despite her not being in their same elite social circles.

She also felt attached to her unknown-to-her daughter and grandson.

So despite the tragedy of Cha Myheok's condition and impending death - after grieving for what she never had with him - she would be left with her adopted son, her daughter, and a grandson that she could dote on.

OH, I ALMOST FORGOT the most important reason - she could financially and emotionally support the sister and grandson who need serious lookingnout for. Without Cha Myeok, the sister is vulnerable to any unsavory men that wasn't to take advantage of her and I assume that's how she got the grandson.

I know Chamyeok left the sister and kid some money but they need so much more than that.
