Star Trek Alum's

George Takei, Michael Dorn, & Robert Picardo are all in this movie, and this is just from the previews and what cast is so far listed.

I can't wait to see who else is in this from Star Trek. I know that there is a Dr. Quinn and Baywatch alum in it too...

~Victory Is Mine! Blahst!~

Bill Mumy from Lost in Space and Babylon 5 is also in this. It's a Sci-Fi channel movie, so I don't have much hope that it willbe good. However, It should be cheesy fun. :)

Alsdo Hudson Leick - aka Xena's nemesis Callisto (aka "that hot blonde evil chick")

reply

And all dead in the 1st 20 minutes... (mostly)

reply

The movies may suck but sci-fi's pretty smart in their casting. I had to watch Mammoth for Summer Glau now I have to record this for Hudson Leick :)

Bill Mummy is wearing a toupee!

reply

Looks like a full wig.

Hi

When is George Takei in this movie? Who does he play and How much dialogue does he have? I thought it was just Worf from NG and the Doctor from Voyager? If anyone can shed some light on this I'd be most appreciative. Thanks.

reply

Bill Mummy's been in Star Trek as well. DS9, The Siege of AR-558 I think.

So far, 25 minutes into it, it IS pretty cheesy... And, c'mon! After 40 years, 'Sulu' is STILL driving the ship!!! And Picardo is STILL the doctor... How {colorful metaphor} cliche!!! But Alexandra and Hudson still look great!!!

Michael Dorn just doesn't look right, and his voice is too modulated. Billy Mumy... Is he the character that almost looks like Bill Gates, with round glasses and red hair?

But it's what I love about Sci-Fi channel movies -- cheesy fun.

reply

Yup! That was Bill! As for the cheese factor, I wasn't complaining!!! It was pretty funny-especially seeing Callisto RUNNING from danger instead of kicking butt!

As Sulu would say

"So much for a little training cruise."

I loved the super laser weapon the miltary guys were supposed to stop the things with. It was nothing more than a Tiger Electronics Lazer Tag gun with a few mods to it. How lame, they could have at least built some quality props for what they didn't spend on effects.

reply

Yeah, but really now! After 40 years?!?! couldn't he have moved on to something else?!?! I mean he wouldn't be interested in chasing the sexy stews, but... Kirk and Spock became travel agent icons!!! And Sulu is STILL driving the ship!!!

"Anybody else feel this was "bait & switch" on SciFi's part? The promos and interactive tv guide hyped it like George & Robert were main stars, and then they exit almost immediately. I feel so used..in that Tijuana donkey and tequila sorta way. ;-)"

Oh yeah I felt the bait & switch. Around in my area they were hyping Takei and Dorn being on it and Good Lord I was absolutely furious. And besides that it was so boring I fell asleep midway through it.

Hey, can we explore this theme a little more? No, really!!! Please?

Yeah, I agree with the bait and switch thing; they hyped Mike and George a lot and then... And I also still have a problem with the Dark Side Warrior Princes being a meek and helpless damsel in distress! Callisto would have kicked A$$ on those over sized "Dr. Who" props (in the episoed where The Doctor and Rose visited the space station to view the death of Earth...) and then used them as earrings! It's like watching Buffy running, screaming and dying as the "Sober Sister!" I don't think so!!!

We need to remember - no one forced Hudson to take the role. See, "fans" may want to see her kicking @$$ ... but she's an actress. So to an actress, playing meek and helpless is just as worthwhile as playing fierce and psychotic. For an actres, the highlight of a career would be playing Blanche Dubois (neurotic, self-centered fading southern belle) or Juliet (giddy, overly-dramatic, hormone-crazed middle-schooler) or the lead in "Glass Menagerie" (repressed shy wallflower) or in "Dolls' House" (repressed Norwegian Housewife.)

Really, now! I thought that this was an actual occurrence that aliens beamed directly into my brain... Thanks for the primer on dramatis personae.

... also Mike Baldridge played Dillard on an episode of "ENTERPRISE"
Blake Gibbons and Alexandra Paul from "BAYWATCH"
Clayton Landey and Joshua Cox did "SLIDERS"
Adam Lieberman was on X-Files and Buffy....

Just a really fun cast list!

...also Tony Gonzales of the Kansas City Chiefs!
