Worst documentary ever

I'm halfway through this piece of crap right now. I'm a political and history buff, and I love documentaries. This film offers not a single interesting moment of screen time. If you think that a crudely drawn parallel between the war in Iraq and the war in Vietnam, interjected randomly throughout the story of George McGovern, with an angry lesbian voice narrator condemning the "violence and lies" equates thought-provoking filmmaking, then this is the movie for you! If you have a brain, and you're seeking a documentary that is capable of focusing on its subject, without digressing into political sentiments befitting of a freshman college student, then this movie is not for you.

Pardon me Dave, but in order to have a truly informed opinion, shouldn't you watch the film all the way through before posting vitriolic comments about it? Not only that, but to refer to the film's narrator, Amy Goodman, one of her generation's most revered journalists and political analysts/commentators as "an angry lesbian," is pure hatemongering. Do you happen to know Amy and what her sexual preference is, btw? Or is this just an assumption, as is your entire "review" of the film, since you admit you've only watched half of it?

Why must the internet, which could and should be a tool of positive expression and constructive debate, so often be used as a vessel for people like you to spew hate, anger and misinformation?

If you don't like the film, or what George McGovern stands for, that's certainly your right as a citizen in an open, democratic society. It's also your right as a member of said society to express your opinions, but Dave, here's the real question: why do you have to be so bloody nasty about it? It is possible to be critical, and still be a gentleman, even in this very angry, confused, topsy-turvy world we all currently occupy.

That's all I'm asking: Please freely express your opinions--JUST BE NICE!

...angry lesbian voice narrator...

...and I guess you think we're supposed to take you seriously when you use phrases like this.

Oh c'mon you two. He used the phrase "worst ever" in his subject. A huge clue his post was going to be a pile of crap.

OK, I do agree with your points though.

reply

I agree. What earthly difference would her sexual preference make, toward her political validity?

Carpe Noctem!
