The Dog Named Lucy !

For people who have seen both films and/or read both the stories these films are based on I have a question based on the fact that a plot description for this film " Old Joy " mentions this film has having a dog named Lucy in it. I am wondering if this means there is any plot relationship that this film has with " Wendy and Lucy " aside from the same guy having written the stories both films are based on between the two stories.

Anybody want a peanut ?

same dog in both of the films (check her credits). i think that is it, though.

Well, I believe that the dog in both films is owned by the director, Kelly Reichardt. So for filmmaking it's easiest just to call her Lucy.

And what a dog she is. She had none of the hang-ups, anger or frustration of the main characters, and she truly appreciated nature. I love Lucy!

reply

Yes, Lucy was the best part of this movie.

I was hoping the director would make a film starring Lucy. Would have loved to see this character trek across America trying to make it home and encounter people on the way. I would love to see a film from Lucy's perspective. Love that dog!

My headcanon is that Lucy is the same dog and Wendy and Lucy is a prequel to Old Joy

Aww, I love that idea :)

I watched Wendy and Lucy a couple of days ago and just finished Old Joy.

Your comment made me smile.
