American Cinematheque screening

The American Cinematheque just screened a Digi-Beta copy of this movie for the opening night of their annual "Giant Monsters" film festival. (Supposedly the only available film print is a a festival in Moscow.)

The movie was not as bad as I expected; in fact, it's a pretty decent kids film, although the new Gamera design is way too cute and cuddly -- a bit step down from the previous design.
