I liked this film *spoilers*

I think that the fact that it didn't look so professional, made it seem more realistic. Like what The Blair Witch Project was aiming for, except they sucked at it. Dead Waves did what Blair Witch wish it had done.

I thought the crawling corpses were amazing, for the fact the film apperantly was done low budget. I think the storyline could've been better. It was good to see the producer of the ghost show, have revenge taken on him by the girl's father for harassing the girl at the nuthouse. I mean ok he wants to help her, and then he turns around and exploits her like a right arse after she's put into professional care! That really made no sense, unless the producer was really that pathetically desperate for yen. I'm sorry for the lack of using names here, I just have trouble remembering Japanese names.

All in all I think the creepiest thing about the film was how obsessed the father was over his daughter. Maybe the film for that reason might appeal more to women then men. Alot of women have the experience of growing up and their father teasing them, about what they'll do to their date if their boyfriend messes with them. However, cutting out the boyfriends eyes is going too far. LoL. Although, I'm sure in certain circumstances there might be some fathers who wouldn't think that if it meant protecting their daughter.

I think what happened is the father ended up obsessing over his daughter so much, that she needed to be protected from him. Like the saying, that parents wish they could keep their children protected from the world in a fishbowl environment. Well he literally put her in a fishbowl, or rather a box with strong glass on the front. However, you have to give him points from coming back from the dead to take care of the seedy producer of the ghost show. I would imagine that is not easy.

So all in all I guess the point is obsession can get out of control, be it obsession for protecting a daughter, or obsession with the dead. Meanwhile while this whole drama is playing out, there also are people watching the show who are dying from the dead waves. So really the film is much more involved than it would appear.
