Why was Mary depicted as the younger sister of Anne?

In reality Anne was the younger sister?

And why is Henry shown as being quite benign, when he was really a selfish, bloodthirsty b*stard who betrayed promises, killed friends, nobles and wives galore (later than this film is set) and left England bankrupt?

reply

Because this is utter fiction.

reply

Because Philippa Gregory is a horrible researcher and forgot that Henry VIII also had a sister named Mary.

reply

Because the screenwriters never read a history book.

reply

Lol.
