Couple things...

First, if you want to be taken seriously, learn which words to capitalize and which words to leave in lower-case.

Second, learn the meaning of the word "Defrayal."

Third, don't group all Hollywood films together. Without them, you wouldn't be on IMDB nor would you have career aspirations (at least, I'm assuming you have some sort of aspiration to be in the movie industry).

You make good points, I apologize for my rant, it was purely stream of consciousness. I understand the definition of defrayal, it's being used symbolically in this case. No doubt Hollywood produces great products, but don't deny the plethora of complete garbage hollywood spews out constantly, Max Payne being a prime example.

Any company/industry/whatever that puts out a ton of stuff will put out both good stuff and bad stuff. It's inevitable that some people will like some things that some people consider bad stuff. In film terms, this means that Hollywood will make the Twilight movies because they'll make a sh*t-ton of money. But because of that, some studios will take a chance and make something smaller that has no hope of making money, but should be made for art's sake.

Of course, the best of both worlds is Lord of the Rings (off the top of my head): great movies that made a ton of money.

And yes, Max Payne was not a great movie. It was a perfectly acceptable (if not entirely faithful) way to spend 90 minutes when you're bored. :-)

PS. Thanks for being civil. It's under-appreciated on the interwebs (and in real life), so I thought I'd mention it.

Lord of the Rings is something I can't be bothered to watch, sorry. I tried at least. I'm aware that many people like it but I'm not one of them. Absolutely boring, sorry.
Max Payne on the other hand was entertaining. Not the greatest film on earth, the entire daemon thing was unnecessary but enternaining nevertheless.
In the end it's a matter of taste.
