Here's a few things that i still don't get...

How did Vanessa kill the Caretaker? And also why did she do it? I thought he was one of the good guys.

The scene where they are having dinner and Mrs Locke takes a plate of food into the other room with some pills on it - supposedly for herself - was that actually for Vanessa?

How did the police discover it wasn't Vanessa in the coffin so quickly if the body hadn't been embalmed?

Just a few things, if you could help that would be great! Thanks!

Just watched this so maybe I can help here...

I don't know that Vanessa killed Major Briggs. Sorry, the Caretaker. I do think maybe he just had a heart attack.

Yes, the plate of food and pills was for Vanessa.

The cop saw the body in the coffin. That wasn't someone who was as badly burned and disfigured as Vanessa. A few years in a coffin isn't going to hide the body of someone burned alive and someone who died like Claire did. One look would tell that story.

I just watched again after some years (still hoping to see it someday without commercial interruptions!)

I really like this movie, but still don't understand all of it either. I had to watch some of it without sound on so probably missed some obvious things.

I too did not understand why Vanessa killed the caretaker guy.. i am pretty sure it does show her attacking him at the end where Vanessa and Christy kinda do a "mind-meld" thing and all is revealed to Christy.

Also, not sure why she killed the Mrs. Locke character either, even tho she was def not a very nice person.

And what really struck me this time watching was it seems that Vanessa's husband is really a good guy, even tho the movie kinda sets him up to be the bad guy.. yeah he got involved with the nurse, but when Vanessa kills her, he covers for her and I guess tries to do the right thing by hiding Vanessa for years. Anyway, some of that was not totally clear so maybe i missed something... still not totally sure why she had to live in that dungeon!
