I don't understand the extreme hatred for the film...

I just saw it, and although I did not feel it was very good at ALL plot-wise, it was entertaining nonetheless.

A few of the jokes were actually not half-bad on the originality front.

Some elements of the plot were cliche, and some moments I think they could have left out (things they added in obviously to add to the running time).

But overall, I think the director did successfully adapt the cartoon to the big screen. When you take a step back, and look at what he had to adapt, it really was a lot more difficult than we think.

Even with its pitfalls, it was entertaining, and the dog they chose was super-cute, lol.

I gave it a 4/10, though, only because I don't rate on entertainment, I rate on plot.

Why are all these people bashing the film though? Not bashing meaning giving it a negative review or anything. I mean, flat-out, saying this film was "THE WORST OF ALL TIME LIEK OMG!!!!!1!!!11!!!!one!!!!" and other things to the same effect. Are these people trolls? Have they seen the film?

I'm willing to bet that none of those attacking it harshly have seen the film. I've seen two posts from people who have seen it (escorting children) and admitted that they didn't like it, but neither of them turned it into a hateful tirade.

Way I see it, if you're harboring so much anger that you need to lash out so severely at a movie you're never going to see, you've got bigger problems than someone making a live-action version of Underdog.

At the heart of every cynical movie critic is a screenplay no one would option.

Niceley put Desired. I thought the jokes were really funny at times, even though I could see alot of the aimed at kids. But I totally understand that. It's Disney! Either way, I gave it a 7/10. Which means Deffinitley buying.

Ah I see.

Thank you for clearing that up for me.

By the way, I don't want anyone to think I am bashing the film for no reason. Not to sound conceited, but I think I wrote the review in such a way that it was not "trolling",

I hope no one is offended by it :- )

I did think the movie got a little silly at times but it was enjoyable and entertaining and the movie flows at a fast pace, I give it an 8 out of 10 stars.

It is pretty hilarious all the people getting completely bent out of shape over a simple kids movie.

People hate this film (and others like it) because it's easier than actually plunking down cash to see for themselves whether or not it's any good.

I caught it today (at the second-run theater). Though a bit rushed, I thought it was pretty decent. It had some funny lines, and, most of all, the chemistry between Peter Dinklage and Patrick Warburton was fantastic.

Somehow, I think we should be past the point of expecting all film adaptations of cartoon series to be exactly like the source material. How are audiences supposed to enjoy anything if they're picking it to pieces? Underdog had some amusing references to the cartoon, like the dog gaining powers from the pill. I think studios realize that the movies shouldn't be just like the shows, 'cause if they were, we'd be more inclined to seek out the shows.

I'm not saying that this film is some undiscovered classic in the making. I'm just saying that it's a pleasant and harmless way to spend 80 minutes.

because they take classic shows and make it into crap like this.
