Underdog = Underrrated, this movie is good

im getting tired of the flaw in the rating system of imdb. This movie is nowhere near its 3 rating. Its entertaining, special effects are ok. But this were not meant to be the core of movies, only a means to deliver the story. I hope despite been considered corny, disney continues making movies clean of sexual inuendos and other stuff I dont want my kids exposed to. I think reality TV and movies are about time to go. Fantasy and war movies too.

For those trying to look at this from a neutral point of view: could you explain what are the virtues of this film other than it's "clean of sexual innuendos?"

Oh, and on a P.S. note: I might point out that if you watched cartoons on Saturday mornings when you were growing up, it's rather likely that you were exposed to some of these sexual innuendos you don't like.

Alright look, there's only one return, okay, and it ain't "of the King," it's "of the Jedi."

Im an adult now and no that worrried for me as for children wathcing cartoons today. And I dont remember sexually charged content on my sunday cartoons. What I do remember bothering me was Bugs Bunny always kissing elmer f. I stand by my opinion this movie is pretty clean for all ages, specially, the youngest.

It's a darn fun film, i'm 23 and can tell you that!
I even gave it a whirl and rented it by myself, not to view with any kid.
I expected a fun little superhero parody with a dog, with some Disney cornyness, and guess what, that's what i got, with quality.
As i pointed out before, the whole character of Shoeshine is great, awesome adaption of dog situations in a human language, great voicework by Jason Lee, and a superb use of superhero situations, specially from Superman and Superman Returns.
It was a well done, not really pretentious, and quite entertaining little film, even if quite corny at times. If people give this innocent little pic a 3, i can't IMAGINE what some other worse movies get...really.
I also agree, the rating system is WAY abused by a bunch of troll numbnuts who simply bash stuff for kicks. They can do whatever they want, but they give a fine film a bad rap. Not that i'm surprised after everything i see here on a daily basis.

I loved this movie so much and want a sequel. Also, a video game would be great.

As is pretty clear from browsing the messages on this board from when the movie was released in theatres, a lot of people were voting "1" for this movie without even seeing it, and IMDb's "weighting" system actually gave the "1" votes more strength than the "10" votes.

Believe it or not, though, it's up to 3.5 from 3.3 since coming out on DVD. That tells me that people who are actually seeing it via rentals or purchase like it.

EDIT: and now, almost four weeks later, it's up to a 3.7. Clearly, most of the people who have actually seen it like it.

"It's a mess, ain't it, Sheriff?"
"If it ain't, it'll do 'til the mess gets here."

i liked the movie..i thought the beginning was sorta lame, but it peaked up steam and so i gave it a 9. It was cute, and there aren't a lot of children movies out there that are truly meant for kids eyes.

I rated it low. I enjoyed the movie's good nature and I like Jim Belushi, Patrick Warburton, and Jason Lee, but that's all the good things I can say about it.
