Better than Eminem's 8 Mile

I compare it to this movie for obvious reasons. They both star an actual artist who is in an autobiographical movie about their own lives but with a few changes here and there, and they both deal with similar themes (Violence, life in the ghetto, crime, making it to the top) But after seeing this movie, I think it's superior to Eminem's. Daddy Yankee did an excellent acting job in this movie and I believe the movie portrayed a realistic image of what life in Puerto Rico's Caserios or Projects is like. That's just my opinion. I have nothing againt's Eminem's film which I also thought it was excellent but that's just the way I feel.

i understand what you mean,,but talento de barrio wasnt a autobiographical movie perse..DY to my knowledge was never a drug dealer. He may had FRIENDS who were(like the dude who challenges him to a race..his real name was "coquito".drug dealer who had his own record label and in his ghetto every christmas he brings the most famous reggeaton rappers to do a free concert for the ghetto.Died, and the news discovered that coquito was pretty much everywhere and had looots of pics taken with certain politicians from the carolina area)

But Daddy wasnt A drug dealer..He was an aspiring baseball player who in a gunfire was wounded in his legs, and cutted his baseball career short. So he decided to give the music a try and there he goes.

Rey pirin on the other hand,,WAS a reggeaton artist/drug dealer.in an interview he admitted it and said he was never caught. This explained why he could appear in pretty much most if not all the reggeaton albums in the mid 90s to early 2ks.Which was odd since lots of reggeaton artists beefed. He was one of the few that nobody beefed with him. After his baby daughter died.he quit the music business and became a christian reggeaton artist.

Rey pirin in the movie is the fat dude that in new years eve was handing out flyers in the ghetto that talked about no shooting in the air in new years eve.Because those gunshots eventually come back down and either hurt or kill innocent people.

Its the most retarded tradition ever..but people do that here.come new years eve, clock hits 12.they shoot.

But like,4,5 years ago its been heavily monitored, and theres less cases.

Way better than 8mile? OF COURSE !

I rated 8mile 4/10, but Talento De Barrio is : 10/10. Why?
Because the movie was based on the most famous reggaetonero of all times. In top of that - the movie was not made with " Sci-Fic ", not even special effects were added( Okay , Okay - probably the bullets, but still ... )
Talento De Barrio focus in the drama - most Latinos do ANYTHING to survive in the concrete jungle.

Well, maybe 10/10 is a little too much. It was fine. To say something, I also liked '8th Mile' and I believe Talento de Barrio's outcome feels more 'real'. But it isn't perfect! It was a very good effort and way more than what I expected from Daddy Yankee as an actor/producer, though.

And Jeico was crrrrraaazzzy!
