Did this ever get released?

I know this might seem like a stupid question, but did this film ever see the light of day - nowhere and nobody has ever heard of it!

The movie details were posted on the Marillion website forum (www.marillion.com) - one of their songs (Ocean Cloud, from the 2004 album 'Marbles') has been used on the soundtrack.

As for Denver, nope, not unless it has been moved to the north east of England :)

It's not a stupid question, but it's also not surprising that a movie hasn't hit the theaters or turned up on store shelves only a few months after the completion of principal photography.

It takes a while to make a movie. After it's been shot, it has to be edited and, in this case, there's a significant investment in time for the digital compositing and CG effects to be completed as well. After the rough edit is in place, you typically will have to do some additional "pickup" shots to get the things you think of during the edit. Typically, a lot of those are quick close-ups on important objects in the movie--showing the detail on, for example, a business card that someone is holding--but they still take time. Then you have more editing to be done. The director, the producers, the distributor will all have changes they want to see, and those need to be accommodated.

Then you have the sound work to do. You've got the location sound (what was recorded on the set), foley and sound effects to create and mix in, and the full musical score. There are five songs by Marillion that appear in the movie, but the music for the remainder of the movie has to be built from other music sources or composed, recorded, and edited in as well.

ADR ("Automatic Dialog Replacement")--where lines that are indistinct or otherwise should be improved upon are replaced with lines spoken by the cast in a recording studio--was completed about two weeks ago. The final audio mix is being completed right now.

All of those elements have to be combined to create both the high-definition and standard definition masters which will go on to the distributor. How long it takes from there before you see it in stores depends entirely on their marketing plans, but that can't happen overnight because the stores need to know about a title well in advance of its release date.

So, be patient; it'll still take another couple of months to get through the manufacturing, marketing, and distribution cycle before it'll be available for purchase or rental.
