Saw this for the first time tonight

This film was amazing, beautifully written and directed, and incredibly moving. I thought it was brilliant theatre, which seems almost an obscene comment, as it seems trivial, given the subject matter it deals with.

And yet, given the subject matter, I think it only right that all of those concerned in making it have striven so hard to do it justice, giving it all of their best experience as writers, director, actors and crew, which they clearly did, and then some.

Poetic. Flawless.

Thank you.

I have to agree with you on that. An amazing film!

I was just flicking through channels when I came across it. Anthony Sher's acting was so riveting that I just carried on watching from that point...I believe its when he first arrives in the camp.

The rest was also moving, especially the scene where he discussed his friend leaving on the death march.

This was repeated on BBC4 tonight - let's hope it was watched and appreciated by a wider audience at last. There was a great interview with Anthony Sher in the Sunday Times today too, talking about the world tour of the play, and its affect on audiences. Can't believe that this still isn't being talked about here.

Amazing.

The message boards on imdb are simply bursting with examples of peurile, pathetic discussions about so many of the pieces of drivel currently to be seen on our TV and cinema screens...

And then something comes along that is actually, really, worth talking about and nobody says a goddam bloody word. What does that say?

Or is it that Primo is just too terrible to watch, and too painful to talk about?

Please tell me it's so?

Cos if it aint, then Levi's story is all in vain. And it's a sad, sad world if it's so.

I had no idea it was being shown again. I'd like to see all of it one day. It really is a shame that this film isn't better known.
