Why doesn't this get as much hate as the Psyso

It was nearly exactly the same as the 1976 version people seem to like it, the same can't be said about the Psycho remake! Reasons?

But I'm sure you can work out what I'm trying to say?

Yea, I got your drift too. I'm watching the original now after not having seen it since the 70s. I just watched the remake last night and they ARE exactly the same - not counting the change from a fish bowl to the flower pot when Damien throws his mom over the railing. The remake is so mundane - not a thrill or chill. Neither of the main actors holds a candle to Peck and Remick. (Julia Stiles, oh please.) I will say that Mia Farrow is pretty creepy but there is nothing else that stands out.

Haha you got there in the end! I got what you were trying to say!
Maybe Vince Vaughan is the reason? Although to be fair, I don't particularly like his movies, but he wasn't that bad in Psycho. He had some pretty big shoes to fill. But there again so did Liev Schreiber in Omen. I think though it was wrong to cast a primarily comedic actor as Norman Bates.
It's been a while since I watched The Psycho remake but one thing struck me was that they showed what Norman was doing whilst looking in the peep hole at Marion Crane (Anne Heche)This sexualised it more than the original. Maybe they did that for a more modern twist? But they kept the Omen practically the same if my memory serves me right? Maybe I'm totally wrong, but that's my two penny worth -- also at 2am AEST!!

I thought Vince Vaughn did surprisingly well as Norman Bates! I never would have figured it.
That said, Liev Shrieber was horrible as Robert Thorn. I've seen oak that is less wooden than his performance! He's a horrible actor.

I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus.
Didn't he discover America?
Penfold, shush.

I'm not a big fan of Psycho, myself, but it's widely considered to be one of the classic films, in league with something like Casa Blanca. Stuff you just don't remake.

The Omen never had that kind of prestige, so the criticism was less.
