I bought it :)

i thought it was pretty bitchin' myself . i also thought that michelle's character was a great reflection of amy heckerling. like, i could really feel amy's personality in the character. any one else agree?

I've got a jar of dirt!...and guess what's inside it...

I totally agree on the Amy comment. I can see her being just like that. A friend of mine met her at a party, and he said she was just this tiny thing, but whip smart and adorable.

I'd love to meet her someday.

While I didn't completely hate the movie, I did not love it & didn't think that it was all that good. The leads had a few nice moments -- but Saoirse Ronan COMPLETELY stole the movie -- completely.

I loved it too. First I thought that it would be gay, but in a good way. You know, like the movie Cherry or Almost Famous; so bad that you find yourself with goosebumps while watching it, a reaction to the guilt of liking it in spite of yourself. (No disrespect to gays. All my friends are gay)

Instead it was just good.

Amy Heckerling gets that feeling of being an outsider at all ages. And as she ages, she just broadens her scope. Think Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Johny Dangerously, Clueless, Loser, and now this.

Paul Rudd was adorable. Michelle shows you can still be beautiful and have a life over 40, and that little girl, she was perfect as an angsty pre-teen.

Such a better rom-com than anything Nora Ephron could do.

I know IMDB is notorious for hatters. So haters all I ask is, open your heart a little and lighten up. You might get some good gay goosebumps and a chip off your shoulder by watching this.

slynetta: almost famous was a great movie. not even gay in a good way. just an awesome movie.

Bender: I was God once.
God: Yes, I saw. You were doing well until everyone died.

Just saw it and thought it was pretty damn funny, but jeebus the treatment they give the film (i.e. the blowing out of colors) to keep michelle looking just a bit younger is way overdone. It was pretty distracting at some points.

Other than that I thought it was a good movie.

I agree on the lighting. I wish I had that kind of lighting in my house!

i started watching this movie because I was bored at home...nothign was on...and im so glad i kept watchingg.

it was the most adorable movie. I was smilign throughout the whole thing just like you. paul rudd was so charming, i sometimes dont like michelle pfeiffer because she comes off as harsh and cold but here she was warm, sweet, and sympathetic. And I loved Izzy. i didnt want her to get with Dillan because I think she deserved a guy better than him that saw her beauty all along!

lol, so yea. I loved this movie :]

reply

I Love this movie Paul Rudd's funny as hell and also loved the character of Izzy.

reply

I agree 100%...I set the DVR and watch it all the time.

reply

Yes Yes Yes!

reply

Totally agree about MP...she was cute and sweet in this, usually I find her cold too. Too bad this film didn't get more coverage.

reply

I was about to turn the channel, but I decided to give it another few minutes because of Michelle Pfieffer, I'm glad I did. It turned out to be a charming movie.

reply

Yes, I loved this movie. I became a big fan of Paul Rudd because he was so natural, handsome (love his smile) and funny. I can't think of anyone else who could have played the part so well. MP was great too, as was the little girl.

I don't care for the title at all, though.

A feel-good movie with great casting and performances. Closer to Clueless than Amy's other films.

Thanks to whoever got this to cable.

i was at home and had finished watching another movie on one of the sky movie channels, when this came on. never heard of it before, but started to watch it whilst doing other things. then started to watch it with more attention, then stopped what i was doing and finished up watching the whole movie through, and thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing.

also noticed there were quite a few english actors in there, who i wouldn't have thought would be in this type of movie.

not your typical hollywood film (thankfully) from the acting, the dialogue, to the quirkiness of it all; a little gem.

reply

It just happened to be on when I turned on the tv...and I was hooked.

Very funny.

this is a very funny movie, one of the funniest scenes being when Izzie sings a mock version of "Oops I did it again." :-) That one got me laughing my ass out. I liked all of the leads, Paul Rudd, Michelle Pfeiffer and Saiorse Ronan.
