It reminds me of a movie, but can't remember the title...

This movie reminds me of an old movie I saw as a kid. It was probably produced in the sixties or early seventies. I think it was British.

The plot was about a young dude falling in love (platonically) with an old lady. Had the same kind of quirky "doesn't-fit-into-mainstream-society" kinda feel to it.
