I like this show, but---

Is it me or does David Spade look and sound a little bored doing it? It's something I noticed last night.

IMDB's like school. Both have all different types of crowds.

omg yes! I notice this all the time. He rushes through everything, runs off the stage during commercial breaks (you can see him leave before a commercial comes on) and then doesnt seem to connect with his audience unlike Colbert. He's awesome at delivering the lines, but there is a sense of "i'd rather be doing anything else right now"...its really distracting actually. Glad someone else picked up on this...i LOVE this show, but I wish he would lighten up some...he doesn't have much else going for him, so if I were him, I'd put all my effort into this 30 minute spotlight

He always kinda seems like that to me, where ever I see him, but yeah, he doesn't look as tired as this. I always thought that was his delivery, kinda lackadaisical(sp?), yet it looks effortless with his ability to deliver the jokes. Maybe it's because the show is taped late at night?

It wouldn't surprise me if he feels like he's not too enthusiastic about the role... I haven't much cared for anything David Spade has done lately, but he does have the capacity to be funny, whereas for the most part this show is about him recycling the same few pieces of pop media crap over and over again, and given the infrequency of episodes, he's generally making the jokes after O'Brien and Leterman have already made them and run them into the ground. I think the intro to tonight;s episode, noting the painful amount of Paris Hilton jokes he makes, makes a pretty good point on how intellectually stillborn the show is and I suspect Spade knows it as well.

We've met before, haven't we?
