WHats the deal

Is she in the Army or Marines, they have pictures showing wearing both uniforms. She wears the Army class A uniform , and then you have pictures with her wearing the Marines's Marpat digital cammoflauge uniform. Who is the advisor to this movie? Stupid mistakes, I am only disgruntle because I am in the marines, and such mistakes bothers me. I knows its not a big deal but its like being a school teacher and seeing people say 2 + 2=5. Bugs the hell out of you.

As they don't give a timeline for the movie but from what they give of her background, it is in the near future. She is in the Army and had special ops training, as of today, women are not trained in special ops per say. The Army, specially Special Forses, as well as other branchs are looking at adopting a version of the new BDUs.

They called her a soldier enough times to really offend a Jarhead, even though she wore the digital camo. I've heard other branches are looking into the digital uniform as a BDU. Thank you for making a career out of protecting our country, even if you Must Accept Rides In Navy Equipment. My granadpa was a doughboy, and my dad was a swabbie sweeping WWII mines during the Korean War. Semper Fi.

They repeatedly state that she's in the Army throughout the movie. "The Army is my family." "Think what the Army could do with her." Etc.

Since the movie obviously does take place somewhere in the future or an alternate present, with a woman as a frontline combatant in the Special Forces, it's not too much to assume that this is a world where the Army has adopted MARPAT.

reply

They keep referring to the army but also when she's being escorted by 2 guards she says something like "going to show me the way to the head too" which I always thought was purely a Navy and Marine term?.

reply

the "head" is a Navy/Marine term. Anyone in the Army would have called it the latrine. However, we're talking about a Sci-Fi Original Movie which means hack writing, and half assed acting, so I'm not surprised at all the technical errors. I am however surprised at the fact Sci-Fi dumped Stargate (supported by the US Air Force) to create this.
