THE END!!!

kinde of surprising end we never got to see the nationals, which was what half the plot was about, never the less a great anime-series even if the end was abrupt.

question: does this continue as a manga?

reply

yup =D i personally like the manga a lot better

reply

I just saw the whole series now and did he dump the US just to play Tezuka and he beat him.
Then he never played in the nationals and we never got to see who won that either.

Well I watched the whole of the last epsoide credits and I am glad I did as I saw Ryoma play Lleyton Hewitt and win.

Also he never beat his dad

reply

nope he came back to play against Tezuka, then he returned to play in the US open.

cool may be I will pick up the mangas someday!

reply

omg i hope they make more of the anime! i luved it but the end was way too abrupt! i rly wanted to see the nationals and the US open.

reply

same here

reply

Me too lol. They have released the Nationals as OVAs. The first ep is out in Japan, but not out in the UK and stuff ffor me yet. Well i mean they arent subtitled lol. Why doesnt this message board come up on the main IMDB thing? Is it cause there is only one topic?

reply

eh what do you mean, the nationals.

I have seen all 178 eps, so are there more now and I also live in U.K

reply

They released the Nationals seperately as OVAS. You can download them through torrents. Whereabouts in the UK?

reply

there's a website called animeepisodes.net for anyone who wants to watch all the episodes of PoT. They're in japanese, but they're subbed. I love this series!

reply

Yeah there's been like 5 episodes of the Nationals out in Japan already. They're OVAs (original video animations) like haider999 said. There's only two episodes that have been subbed so far, but you can watch them for free on Youtube or animeepisodes.net.

reply

By now they are 9 episodes, and some are very close to the manga, I think you can watch it on youtube.

The bad thing is that for now, they'll only make 13 episodes. So it will still remain incomplete, since the manga is not over yet. So, it's only till Hyotei vs Seigaku II I guess.

Basically the anime caught up to the manga. So the anime made some filler eps and eventually, I guess they decided to just stop doing filler eps and end the anime series so the manga can get ahead. Hence once the manga got ahead a bit more, the OAVs for the Nationals came out.

I guess it's a good thing. Just look at what happened to Naruto. They've made like 70+ filler eps because they have to let the manga get ahead of the anime.

Yea, Naruto was getting way boring cause of all the fillers. But there are more than 10 OVA episodes out and more to come.

reply

I've seen all the 13 ovas now and I really love them but I want more! You didn't get to see some things, like the final game and Ryoma doing "that" to Atobe.. ^^ (Don't wanna spoil anything for those how haven't seen it yet)

"I would say I had a great time, but that would be a waste of a lie, wouldn't it?"

reply

I havent seen the OVAs yet so got that to look forward to lol. Is it true they are making a drama series of it?

reply

yeah its a shame that they just didnt do a break in the show like half seasons in america but I have no clue about a drama series.
