This is not a sequel or a prequel - it's an "inter-quel"

This is like the third Lion King Movie.

The entire storyline of this movie takes place within the events of the original movie.

Think "The Horse and His Boy" in terms of taking place in that unwritten period of Kings Peter and Edmund, Queens Lucy and Susan being grown ups in Narnia in "TLTW&TW." That's the idea here. It changes nothing about the actual events of the original movie, because it is a made up adventure of what Tod and Copper *MIGHT* have done during their friendship together as "kids" during the first movie.
