Anyone notice

there were some sense that reminded u of outehr disne movies.

for example the racoon fight scene reminded me of the baboon fight sense from tarzan

Nita walking into that blue light sorta reminded me of atlantice not to mention the seen befor with keni falling off the cliff was like mufasa falling off the lciff in the lion king

The Springwood Slasher, that's what they called me. My reign of terror was legendary.

I am very glad you mentioned this Wolf deamon333. I also noticed a lot of things taken directly from other movies. Don't forget how when Nita is being dressed up to marry that one guy (can't remember the name), it looks like a scene directly taken from Mulan (I was seriously expecting them to start singing the song :). The dad even looks like Mulan's grandfather! I was shocked!

TV's get smaller and bigger. Soon the medium TV will become a thing of the past.

Finally! Someone who agrees with me on the Atlantis connection.

i've noticed in their other movies
that scenes remind me of other disney movies

I thought that girls dad looked like the dad in pocohontas.

The original Brother Bear was made by the now-defunct Florida animation unit of Disney. It was the same unit that produced Lilo and Stitch and Mulan. If you notice in all three movies the human characters look similar, although personally, I think the Mulan characters looked the best. So it's easy to see why there is a similarity between them all in designs. There is a tad bit of a difference between Pocahontas's engagement and Nita's engagement. At the beginning, Nita is prepared to go through with the marriage whereas Pocahontas, right from the get-go, is a bit rebellious to her father's wishes.

ALLLLSOOO beauty and the beast, were tht dude was chasing after kenie...:D or however you spell it.

reply

wow, I've noticed connections between other movies before, but I never noticed all the ones you mentioned until now. but you're all right: there ARE a lot of similarities.

Light and dark are eternal, but that doesn't mean we should give in either.

reply

i guess that happens when you have the same set of designers
design for the same company for years and years

did anyone else notice that nita's father sounded like the guy who does voice overs for hallmark?
and like someone else said, he also sounded like the guy who did the voice for pocahontas

reply

disney is running out of ideas. the only way the can keep making movies is to put a new spin on old ideas.

reply

Funny. Russel Means did Powhatan's speaking voice while his singing voice is provided by Jim Cummings who also voices Nita's father.

oh my god you guys! you thought of everything! and i who thought that I found out many "reminders" to other movies. After seing to Nitas wedding I began to think that "if you put a little bit of mulan and pochahontas and alot from Brother bear 1. this would be the result"

great job :)

reply

Actually, Russell Means provided Powhatan's speaking AND singing voice. Jim Cummings only provided bit parts in Pocahontas.

Disney has been doing this for years, not just recently. There are identical (except for the characters, of course) scenes in Sword in the Stone and Jungle Book, and also Robin Hood and Aristocats. I'm sure there more but I haven't watched the older Disney movies lately.

reply

Ooohh yeah! Now that you mention it. I remember seeing something like that in Snow White. You know that scene where she's dancing and the dwarfs are playing some song. If you notice she's doing the same kinda dance they did with Maid Marion in Robin Hood when they're dancing to "The phony king of England.

wow i didn't notice the tarzan resemblance, but i thought that it resembled lion king with the hyenas chasing simba and nala, but now that you mention it, they all kinda look alike huh?

reply

when the girl is getting ready to get married for the second time, kinda reminded me of pocahontas. the dads voice had that deep, leaderish sound to it. if you know what i mean??!

I thought that Nita's transformation, particularly where she's raised up into the sky towards the image of the bear and we see her silhouette against the Northern Lights, that that shot looked almost exactly like the scene from The Little Mermaid where Ariel is silhouetted against the brightly-colored seawater just before she turns from a mermaid to a human.

BTW, I thought Kenai's transformation into a bear in the first movie was much better. I liked this movie, but I was hoping to see more reference to Sitka, like how they would have an eagle appear every once in a while to show he was watching over Kenai. I'd have liked to have seen a conversation between Sitka and Kenai, like the one between Simba and Mufasa in The Lion King where Mufasa gives Simba a sense of direction. Then again, Sitka's my favorite character from Brother Bear, so I'm a bit biased.

Nevermore!
