With the way things have fallen at the mouse house I can say it looks rather bleek for this or anyother sequels. The Disney Toon Studios which was responsible for such titles as Little Mermaid Ariels Begining, Cinderella3, Mickeys once and twice upon a christmas, return to neverland, jungle book2, lady and the tramp2, and bambi2 was sadley closed a few years ago. Hundreds of artist were let go because John Lasseter and a few other good goons thought sequels were not needed. Well this is really sad due to the fact the these sequels kept 2D animation alive while everyone jumped to 3d animation such as ToyStory, Shrek, and many others that flooded the gate in the early part of the 2000's. Don't get me wrong I really liked most of what came out but it was the constant progression that disney kept churnning out classic films even though they were sequels. People signed petitions to end these films and many signed I must admitt I left nasty notes for those people which didn't do any good. I love Disney Sequels, I love watching my favorite characters grow and enjoyed every single revisit that I had with them... I wonder since most of the money that was made by sequels is being used to make The Princess and the Frog I wonder if this movie flops in theaters if Disney will be taking a long hard look backward saying hey doesn't Brother Bear3 or Robin Hood2 sound like a great idea. And when other sit back and say sure it has meret. you know the ones who hated and boycotted sequels, now this again will be their way of rapeing in the money, I mean raking in the money. I love sequels and wish Disney would go back to making them again. I mean why can't there be room for all mediums. I would love to see sequels remade such as Pocahontas2 which only had 1 month to have the whole story written and storyboarded, and less than 1 year to have animated and colored. If you don't believe me challenge it I have proof.
I hope more people look to these boards and start raving on the films. Perhaps it will get Disneys attention and show them we like it when our stories continue.
