I'm surprised nobody's mentioned this.
But did anybody else feel like the killer had watched "Final Terror" and "Rituals (aka The Creeper)" one too many times?

Seriously, his disguise is clearly inspired by the killer from "Final Terror," and "Rituals" also featured an ex-soldier leaving booby traps, leaving a head on a stick for the rest of the guy's to find, and setting fire to someone hanging by a rope.

Now, I enjoyed "Wilderness" and liked the way they played with all of this, but it just seems odd that no one has brought up the similarities to these earlier films.

Also, it's interesting to note that the new Crispin Glover film "Simon Says" features a killer with the same MO, dressed as if he's part of the forest.

He was a member of British special forces and the gear he wears is a ghillie suit.

I think Lindsay says the father is/was with the sas when they question him in the hut before the flaming arrows

the ghillie suit is used by snipers to hide while taking the shot. alot of movies used it, but it doesnt belong to any of them
