reply

damn it! why cant MK have it

This film was awesome, I saw it yesterday.

The animal trap death scene was so funny and sick.

This movie was better than 90% of the crap US horror movies of the last few years because it was actually gory and wasn't stupid.

Excellent movie, i almost forgot what a good movie is with all that fake hollywood crap that is going around these days. This movie goes back to the roots and stands out in almost everything like in "The descent", excellent acting performances, script, plot and perfect camerawork, .. it gets a 10 rating from me!!

Indeed, I was very excited about the quality of the cast, it really looks very great and the special effects look great. A very good horror movie with a good plot (it's kind a original), an excellent cast and good effects.

Well sorry to put a downer on things, but i was really looking forward to this movie, ive just finished watching it and cant say im that impressed, ive seen it all done before and alot better. Brotherhood of the wolf and deliverence anyone?

The main guy had nothing about him, they tried to make him all cool and he comes across as a bit of an idiot, i mean did anyone see him in dead mans shoes? he was amazing in that! he just needed a better script. Sean should have had a bigger part and i thought the effects were just typical low budget gore.

Too many cheesy lines aswell, im English and hate the fact that the rest of the world is gonna think this is what we are actually like.

All in all it was a good idea but it came across cheap and poorly scripted. Shame.

on with the backlash! lol

I just finished watching it this morning around 7am (21st Septtember). I thought it was excellent. Mind you I watched it on the PC with headphones and I loved every minute of it.

To answer your question, it is better at home watching a movie, in private. So as there are no arse holes coughing or whispering or laughing at moments in a movie, or gasping at death scenes etc. That sort of thing kills the enjoyment and thrills to be experianced, for me anyway, so much so that it is irritating. This movie is better in the privacy of your own home, than in a public place like a cinema.
The moment where that guy walked out of the water with a knife and took on that killing machine (wont say what it was for those not seen it yet - as I dont spoil details like this for people unlike some people in this site do). Well when he came out of the water with the knife and had basically had enough of it all. I felt myself ready to jump out my chair and start chanting his name in support of what he was doing. As I was so engrossed in the movie that I was on the same boat as them in a way. I was immersed in what was going on in the movie. This would NEVER have happened in a cinema viewing of the movie. But it did at home. Which is why I never go to the cinema anymore, I wait for the home release

bit predictable...
for the rest, your average horror flick.

not a bad film caught a screening couple of nights ago at my local flicks.

1 thing that really annoyed me was the Irish girl. Got to be 1 of the worst acting performances ive ever seen!

"Where's she gone!"

Irish girl:
"She................Ran......................off"

Mmm...not a patch on the astounding "Dead Man's Shoes", but watchable, derivative, (quite) good fun.

not a patch on the astounding "Dead Man's Shoes"

not really fair to compare them because of one actor

I might be one of the very few that actually liked DEATHWATCH.

"There is no Seyser Koze!!!" Gabriel Byrne blunder while filming The Usual Suspects.

It was above average horror.

We're talking 3.5/5. (I saw cry_wolf recently, it's quite a bit better than that anyway!)

The film managed to be a little jumpy, was tense in places, was acted well by most and had a welcome gritty UK feel to it, which tends to elevate horror movies, but I'm british so there you go.

(SPOILERS)

However. Most of the likable characters are killed first, especially Reid's character, in unlikely fashion. With little left to root for from half way through.

The director does make clever use of the environment, especially the dangers involved. The scenes with the dogs managed to be quite intense, and the use of gore does border on downright entertaining!

Worth a look for horror fans.
