This was not Highlander...

No where in this movie did "Princes of the Universe" play...it would have been perfect with the Quickening at the beginning of the movie. I was so pumped because after the first highlander lost his head I was thinking..."Yes, Queen is gonna kick in any second..." and then....NOTHING!

Other than that this wasn't too terrible but it wasn't great either. It was practically identical to Fist of the North Star (especially the live-action movie with Gary Daniels).

Too many cliches save for the 2,000 years of vengeance Colin couldn't get...I actually loved that aspect of the story. But they wasted tons of opportunities and potential for character development. In addition to doing the timeline flashbacks they should have also showed him training (albeit briefly) in different sword arts and martial arts, sort of like they did in the TV show and in the movie EndGame. It would have added some depth to the character especially showcasing that it was not his lack of adaptation, fighting evolution and skill that prevented him from winning but his will.

Bleh, hopefully someday we'll get a decent Highlander sequel worthy of the name Highlander...heh, I think all these subpar attempts at broadening the story actually makes me look forward to the Hollywood remake.
