Hey guys...well i just saw under the greenwood tree yesterday, was kinda bored and nothin on tv, so tuned in to this...lemme just say that i loved...loved the movie!!!! It was sooo good!!! DICK is soooo cute!!! I love him, definatly the best part of the whole entire movie! so here are my questions...

does anyone know if this will air again anytime soon???

and

Is the movie online somewhere that can be downloaded or any clips of the movie...i know some tv movies like high school muscial that could be downloaded online.

I really wished I taped it! Damn it!

Don't know if this is true for your area but the PBS stations here have a feature that allows one to click on the program and find other scheduled airings. They will also email a reminder about the future airing if you request. You can link to your local station through the PBS Masterpiece Theatre website.

I, too, was pleasantly charmed by this simple but well-turned-out story. I've read (and mostly agree with) the quibbles/goofs but sometimes it very satisfying to have a story of this kind.

Question - what is that 'thing' that the reverend keeps putting by his nose?

It's been over a year since I saw this, so can't recall specifics but one of these might be possible:

I believe snuff (powdered tobacco, taken by sniffing it up the nose) was common at that time.

Also, many people carried scented handkerchiefs, as sanitation at that time was not so good as it is now, and it was a way to lessen the effect of unpleasant aromas on the olfactory sense.
