It seems I'm the only fanboy of this great movie...

...which is too bad. It's lonely being in a cult of one. But I'll take it. Shoot 'Em Up rocks.

reply

You're not alone. My favorite movie of all time.

reply

Awesome! Glad to hear from you. The cult following has just doubled to 2. Let's get more...

I am not usually an enthusiastic fan of violent action films, but this one really stood out as more original, visually captivating, and with a wicked sense of humor. Another reason I actually list it among my all time favorite guilty pleasure films, might be that I watched it at about 2am after coming off of anesthesia for an operation. I bet this would be an amazing film to watch after a few large drinks or some now occasionally legal pot.. Lol.
Even at midday, during subsequent viewings over the years, I still marvel at the ballet of gun violence but after the shootings in CT in 2012, I worry that a lot of folks with real automatic guns like Hertz and crew are glorified as anti heroes. Nonetheless, Giamatti was a brilliant pick for the bad guy and Monica is deelicious...literally, as DQ. Clive Owen is my kind of action star, too.
NOPE. YOU ARE *NOT* THE ONLY SHOOTEM UP FANBOY.. by far...

reply

You kidding? I wish to GOD they'd hired this guy to direct Max Payne.

reply

There were no "automatic guns" used at Sandy Hook, nor in any other mass shooting. But, your inability to discern the difference between them, and obvious lack of knowledge about guns in general DOES explain your poorly placed admiration for this complete turd of a movie.

reply

WOW, where did that comment come from?
I saw no previous reference to Sandy Hook, nor automatic weapons.
I'm guessing that you hail from the US of A, so I'll bow to your superior knowledge of guns - but name just a couple of movies where gunfights are shown realistically/factually

reply

I like it too. People need to know what they're getting into when they watch Shoot 'Em Up, and then it's very enjoyable.

"It's lonely being in a cult of one." - I'm in. Pass the Kool Aid.......and the carrots.

reply

Haha...glad to have you join the list!

reply

Yea I'm in this movie is awesome.

reply

You guys really must have turned your brains off completely when watching this...

reply

And you must have had a massive stick up your ass if you couldn't enjoy this movie!

reply

Every film needs to be deep and thought-provoking, amirite? Everyone should also think and look alike, all uniform and neat.

reply

You are too dumb to use sarcasm mate, people with an actual argument don't need to put words in the opposing side's mouth, I never so much as implied I considered this movie sh!t because it wasn't deep and "thought-provoking".

I do however expect a movie to not be completely retarded, which this movie clearly is to any intelligent creature.

reply

As opposed to your "movie is completely retarded" argument, amirite? Sure showed me.

reply

You're wrong. Viewing things for what they are is a trait of an intelligent person. You seem to be lacking this trait. You don't hit the city a Friday night with the aim of an intelligent conversation.

Try appreciating the world for what it is, it will brighten your day.

reply

I'm with you, too. In fact, when playing Left 4 Dead with my friends, and we die numerous times, I like to yell "My God! Do we really suck, or are these zombies really that good?!"

Know that, thank you, next question.
The Nameless Guy.

reply

That made me lol. The only way that line can make anyone lol is if you love Shoot em up. Great movie.

reply

Oh I'm so in. I give this movie a 10 out of 10 no questions asked. The perfect action movie.

Eat your carrots.

reply

I really can't hang out with people who don't like this movie.
