The movie never showed him fixing anything. They just had characters say he was great at it but we never got to see that.
His big fixing moment was when that dude got someone with his car. Michael just called a lawyer for him.
If that's all it takes then I guess I'm a fixer too.
That case was already after Arthur died and he knew it was a hit done by uNorth. To say he's having second thoughts about his career choices is an understatement. The movie is about walking away from the dark side. You also think he would have been able to provide the client with something better elsewhise so you may rest assured that's exactly what he would have done before he saw the light.
shareThere is a montage at the start of the movie where Michael is going thru phone calls "fixing" things but the movie is basically him at the end of his rope as a fixer. Marty also tells him the new firm will know exactly how valuable he is.
