What was the paper that his brother the cop got for him that he somehow used to get into Arthur's loft
That got him in so much trouble and could have affected his pension?

It was a Crime scene seal. He needed to break a seal to get in and then replace it.
Apparently they are not tossed around lightly. If he got caught giving his brother one he could have been fired, thus, loss of pension.

Now if this is true or not some NYPD can enlighten us. Otherwise it was just a prop to show how far his brother stuck his neck out to assist him. More indebtedness For Michael Clayton.

Thanks that makes a lot of sense
I went back and looked at the paper as it changed hands and yes it looked very similar to the one already on the door before Michael entered the loft room
