Things that Didn't Make Sense

1. Why does Michael Clayton stop for the horses?

2. How was Michael Clayton able to wiretap Arthur's cell-phone, in addition to his answering machine?

3. Why would Anna (one of the plaintiffs) take a plane and agree to meet Arthur?

4. Why would Michael Clayton frequently leave his car unlocked?

1) the image of the horses on the hill was a really close resemblance to the one he saw in his son's book- a page he also saw Arthur had written in. He stopped to look because it took him by surprise.

2) he didn't wiretap Arthur's apartment- that's the whole reason he discovers the murder plot in the end. Michael Clayton hears from Sydney Pollack that Arthur had been calling that girl and when Clayton brought it up casually to Arthur Arthur freaked out. Michael Clayton simply thought Arthur was crazy. When he finally talks to the girl and realizes that his phones were in fact tapped, then Clayton understands he was murdered.

3) maybe because he felt passionate about helping her and she could see that. She wanted him to fight for her.

4) because he has a son? He's always back and forth in his car

4. The doors were locked. The assasins hacked the locks. You see them remote lock/lights blink/audible noise, right before Michael returns from the Poker game and unlocks the doors. Some people just don't pay attention.
