'He could do much better in a rehabilitation clinic...'

Note to self: If a loved one ever loses their personality in a car wreck, let's not bring them home straightaway to traumatize the entire family.

Agreed! I mean, they're doctors for a reason. They know what they're talkin about.

I couldn't help coming to the same conclusion. I am sure the neighbours would appreciate it as well.

I agree! The poor kids! I can't imagine a hospital sending someone home who is like that. I mean having amnesia is one thing, but the way he was acting made it a danger for him to be at home with his wife and children.

And I wonder how accurate the movie was. I know that when people get brain damage they have to relearn things, but would they really talk like, "Who me?" I wonder.

In any case, the OP was right in saying "traumatize your family". Crazy! At a rehab facility they would have at least known how to deal with him and could have kept him restrained if needed and worked with him to try and get him better, if possible.

Guess I need to read up on the real story, though.

Idk how it was in real life, but in this movie, the wife was SO incredibly stupid. Just because she wanted things to get back to normal didn't mean she could force it to happen, and she should have seen how he was behaving and that it wasn't good for the kids to have to deal with that and to take him to a basketball game, knowing how he had been behaving at home? Ridiculous!

Haven't seen the movie yet - don't know if it's been shown over here and hoping to find it on DVD (anyone know if it's out?) but I've appreciated being able to read people's comments on the board, here.

By the way, writerchick89, you do realise the quote from Lord of the Rings is actually, "Not all those who wAnder are lost." don't you? Aragorn is a Ranger and Rangers wander all over the place.
