why did they cut so much out of the movie?

i didn't even know they cut anything out until the actors starting emailing me after the movies release... i think about 17 minutes got cut from the original version....

Hmmm, the version i got has all of that you mentioned that was deleted. This movie actually has a really good story to it, it makes sense all the way thru. And to the person who screamed STUDENT FILM PROJECT, how many mainstream movies have you actually remembered because they were so great? Maybe 1 or even 2 at best.. Without these movies we are stuck with the crap that is force fed to us over and over and over in commericals and at fast food joints..Then they want you to spend $40 to go see it on the big screen!! Screw that, as long as these flicks are made, I'll watch 'em .. And that women that played the lead is def. a hottie..

Hey thanks a lot for spoiling this movie for me jerk off! I guess I will have to watch something else now. Next time put spoilers in the subject or at least at the start of your rant. And when you write a review and want to post spoilers tell people to read your POST to find out what's missing. I was expecting "they cut out key parts" or "they cut out too much gore. I was NOT expecting to hear "the girl shoots her self" now not only do I know she dies, but that SHE kills her self. So once again THANK YOU!

wonder if there is anyway i can get an uncut dvd from the makers of the movie or something off there website.

i just watched the new version i had not seen the film festival version, and i must say this movie was awesome and made sense to me until the scene when they had the big fire fight in the woods after that *beep* starting being full of plot holes,

*spoilers* for all the people who click on topics that would spoil the movie anyways lol


but anyways

suddenly the commandant is there with no hair and beating up the recently dead guy and then later she had killed herself to infiltrate the solstice hideout?, and also why did Angela attack the solstice, and what the heck happened to Richie and Jimmy the Zombie, you know what i really liked this movie until i was confused, who ever edited this really needs to get another job and not cut out so much key plot points.

There's actually 3 versions of the movie.
The first one was shown at a premiere, it was about 2hours long.
Then the director cut out about 12mn to speed up the movie a bit.
The version on the American DVD is the second version but with 17mn cut out by the distributor, this is why it doesn't make sense.
The first version is not available on DVD, but the second one, which is the one the director prefers, is only available in UK, in France and in Japan.
