Good idea ruined by overacting and a plethora of plot twists.
I really liked the idea. Anything that takes a new angle on the genre is an automatic win in my eyes. I was also able to draw parallels to a lot of real issues (i.e. gay rights, racism, or being accepted by others in general) that people face.
The Commandant character, however, was extremely annoying up until she cut/dyed her hair. Josh, the Solstice person, and a few others were also guilty of overacting.
Another thing that bugged me was being constantly force fed plot twists. It made the film drag on.
I genuinely enjoyed the film. Since it was on Netflix instant play I honestly have no regrets about watching it.
