How different is this game from GTAIII?

Same city layout, right? Same car models?

ONLY DIFFERENCE: just more missions that are totally different, unrelated, and independent from the missions from GTAIII?

The only difference carries a lot of weight, I would think.

*SPOILERS*

It sets up some things for GTA III (I've just gotten to Staunton Island).
It shows how the Diablos, and Triads took over thier territories, and it shows some other funny things: Like why there aren't Motorcycles or Bicycles in GTAIII!! LOL!

Psychos do not explode when sunlight hits them, I don't give a *beep* how crazy they are!

Actually, I haven't beat the game yet but from the looks of it, I think this games story is gonna top even GTA3s. I like how this ones more focused on the mafia.

so why there´s no bikes in GTA 3 ? haven´t played LCS

There's a protest going on at the time of LCS. According to the manual (which follows the format of a newspaper), the group American Road Safety for Everyone (A.R.S.E) had already successfully fought for a ban on the use of bicycles, through the use of iffy statistics. The same group is calling for a ban on motorcycles...claiming that they cause more deaths than old age, and encouraging it's supporters to "get them before they get you". The group was founded via generous donation from the Maibatsu Corp (as in Maibatsu Monstrosity)...so you can read between the lines on why 2-wheeled vehicles are being targeted ;)

It also supplies a map when you press pause, which is a heck of a lot of help for when I went back to play GTA III...it helped me to remember the layout and get to my destinations faster. Also, payouts in GTA III were massive whereas they've been shortened (and therefore more realistic) in LCS.

I love the storyline for LCS because Tony was one of my favorite characters from GTA III. I swear, the conflict between him and his mom never gets old. :) It's pretty much all about the mafia too, and if there's one thing I like about that, it's that loyalty is a huge part of it. It was hard to tell anything about Claude because he never spoke, so I can't really make a comparison.

As for car models, I haven't really noticed. I'm sure they're about the same with maybe a few tweaks here and there.

Yea I think this game is my favorite out of the Grand Theft Auto series. In video games, you can have features up to the roof but if the characters aren't developed enough or you don't care about them, the game isn't gonna be that good. Same with movies that have a lot of special affects but the characters aren't that good. I didn't care about the people that much in San Andreas.

Does Claude speak in this game?

Claude is not in GTA LCS. Tony Cipriani is the main character.

"Same city layout, right? Same car models?"

actually the car models look much more improved than the ones in gta 3 (eventhough LCS is supposed to take place in 1998, 3 years before GTA 3 takes place)...the fancy cars look much more shiny n hooked up with much better rims..and some cars look like a whole new car that dont even resemble the cars in GTA 3 (example: landstalker, manana)

Also the game graphics are not the same as GTA 3..the LCS graphics look like they were takin more from the graphics on Vice City...n just put on liberty city

reply

The main difference is that it's all told from Toni Cipriani's point of view, and you also get to see the gang wars that the Leone family got caught up in
