Did anyone else get the vibes that Lucy might have been a rapist? I especially didn't like the way she stared at Maps... seriously creeped me out.

Lucy imo saw Maps as a boy who wouldn't hurt her and imo he might of been her first kiss and love...

She was his first but he definitely wasn't hers or how would she already know she liked being kissed on the neck? Like someone said, she was a bit slutty, she certainly knew what she was doing - maybe she just liked taking advantage of inexperienced boys.

Lucy wasn't in the book and Maps was 12 in the book.

There was this scene where they first introduced themselves to each other. The look Lucy gave Maps while he was climbing to Lucy's spot on the mountain was scary. I seriously thought she was a bit high, or something.

I think Lucy was cool.
She saw something in Maps that others seem to have missed.
Maps was the Father figure to the other December boys.
He was unselfish and willing to give up his own desires for them.
He would live the rest of his life giving to others without taking for himself.

Lucy gave him a gift he would otherwise never have received on his own.
To quote Alfred Lord Tennyson
" 'Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all."
