What I love most about this film...

It's starts off as a kind of crime drama and ends up as an English slasher. Anyone else notice that?

Who needs reason's when you've got heroin?

Yes, totally. I went in thinking it was just that, a crime thriller (I almost never read reviews or watch trailers before seeing the film). at first I thought it was pretty standard fare and thought it was a like a comical version of "the disappearance of alice creed" but it ramped up nicely into a throwback slasher with some nice twists. good direction, camera work and performances all the way around. the deleted scenes were excellent and I wish there was an extended version that puts them back in. a nice cameo from Doug Bradly for true horror fans. I would have LOVED to heat the commentary but for some reason it's only on the R2 DVD.
8/10

The problem with this film was that the trailer ruined it. Not in a 'the trailer had all the best bits way' but in a 'it ruined the *beep* twist' way. I just finished watching for the first time and i was a little confused. I'd seen the trailer and found myself waiting for the farmer and for him to raise far more hell than he eventually did. Without the trailer, people would have been surprised by the sudden change in tone and style and have been more willing to let it lead them where it wanted to and they wouldn't have really been expecting more than they got. Without the trailer i agree this film deserves 8/10 instead of the insulting 6.2 it has atm. Reece Shearsmith and Andy Serkis are great in it and it leaves enough unclear that the audience should realise that it's not taking itself in any way seriously and feels like a British comedy take on a low budget, slasher B Movie.

I just watched this movie for the very first time ( for free on FEARNET On-Demand ) . In my personal opinion this movie really did seem a bit similar to the movies - " Fargo " ( the whole kidnapping thing gone wrong ) meets " Wrong Turn 2 " ( the deformed guy chasing everyone around with a pick ax - etc. ) . Both for me were crazy cool movies and were a couple of my insane favorites when the mood hits me lol . This movie was most amusing and the dialogue was a riot . Thanks LizziHudson for your subject post .

The drastic change in the type of movie that it was reminded me of "From Dusk Til Dawn." It starts off as a crime movie, and then turns into horror. I really enjoyed this movie, and it has made me a fan of Andy Serkis.

That's exactly what I love about it.

What do you think this is, a signature? It's a way of life!

Yeah, the way this movie switched genres about halfway through was extremely clever and surprising.

I've been chasing grace/ But grace ain't easy to find

That's entirely what made the movie for me. I loved that. The hot blonde with the great tits in that pink outfit didn't hurt it at all either ;)
