Is this Tv series supposed to be before the emporer's new groove... it says in the preview that he must pass all of his classes to become emperor...Does anybody know?

Pacha is in the show though.

I don't drink alcohol, Grim, and "Jesus juice" only exists in Janet Arvizo's imagination.

reply

It is not a prequel. How would Kuzco know Pacha before they met? Checha(or whatever her name is) is pregnant in the first movie with 2 kids, but now she is not pregnant with 3 kids.(Spot the difference?)

reply

I think it is a prequel yet they changed things a little in the show to make it more favourbale or better for them. They didn't make everything exactly the same but I am pretty sure its a prequel. Besides, isn;t Kuzco a teenager in this show...and in the movie he wasn't. It sort of like the Hercules cartoon seris had...it was the main charcter but as a teenager in high school.

reply

In the movie, Kuzco was eighteen, thus a teenager.

Yes, it's true! IMDB has reached Sweden!

reply

In the tv show, it talks about when he used to be emperor. Meaning, not a prequel

reply

They make obvious refrances to the movie too

Kuzco guess Kronk was in his late 20s, not early 30s. And yes, the show DOES take place after the movie, I don't understand why people get so confused about that, it's really not a hard thing to miss. Plus, it's not taken place before Kronk's New Groove, it was set after The Emperor's New Groove and Kronk's New Groove cause in the sequel, Kronk became the head new chef of Mudka's Meat Hut and Yzma still had her big kitty tail. Another thing to point out too is that in one of the episodes of the show, Kuzco got jealous of a llama named Victor for taking all the glory in the school spirit, so he got rid of him and force himself to become a llama again. The show makes perfectly sense to be taken place after the two movies cause in the first season, he mention before twice to the audience and to the Mr. M teacher that he was turn into a llama before.

One question then, What happened to the annoying bird lady that Kronk married? In the end of 'Kronk's New Groove' they show pictures of what I had thought was them getting married.

The show came after the movies were made; so did they ever mention the oddly proportioned/brittish accented woman? Personally I'm of the opinion that the cartoon is set after both, but that's more my wishful thinking because I really did horribly dislike the birdwoman character and I adore the interaction between Kronk and Yada.

I find Yatta too young to pair up with Kronk. I rather see her match up with Ramon instead. I dunno why Mrs. Birdwell was never brought up or mention in the TV series either, but I don't care for her too much either. She was never that pretty to be honest.

The second movie and the show are pretty much alternate continuities to the original movie. That's why when adding them up things don't make sense.
