Logistics (How do they film it?)

OK, there are lots of mini-cams in the car, but there are a lot of unanswered logistical questions:

(A) At the end of the ride, how do they get the camera shot of the contestants leaving the cab? Is there another crew following behind? Is there someone we don't see in the right-hand seat?
(B) Where does the driver get the questions? Does he memorize an entire show? Does he have a crib sheet? Does he have hidden communications with someone who is judging the questions/answers?
(C) How do they meet revenue requirements for reporting? I've yet to see a contestant asked for their taxpayer ID. How would they handle a tourist from Spain who doesn't have a US taxpayer ID?

I've thought a lot about some of those too, I hate to admit.

(A) You also see some shots of the people BEFORE they get into the Cash Cab. I think there is a second crew following them. Also, I can't tell if there IS someone in the passenger seat, but I believe there is not.

(B) Ben Bailey clearly is wearing an ear piece in his right ear. I think that's where the majority of questions, communications come from.

(C) This last one is trickier, but I think that when they get in the cab, agree to play, then they cut to an outsite shot. During this time, I'm guessing the producers explain the rules (which you never see on camera - they just know about the Street Shout Outs and such), sign releases and get taxpayer info.

Also worth noting, the person sitting in the rear-passenger side seat is always the one who gives the "Final Answer"

Just my thoughts. Great Show! I dig it a lot...

Good points--I thought about this too.

This is my new favorite show on television! Ben Bailey is excellent as the host. The initial reaction of the passengers when the lights and music appear is hilarious!

Ben Bailey was on the Bob and Tom radio show yesterday and he confirmed that there is indeed a chase vehicle with "about 10" people inside. Producers, writers, technical crew, etc. Contestants must sign a standard TV release form before they can participate. When he asks someone to be more specific, it's because the original answer didn't exactly satisfy the judges and they are telling him to get a better answer.

When he's not driving the Cash Cab, Ben is a touring stand-up comedian. I'll have to start watching the schedules of my local comedy clubs for him. He also said they start taping again next month.

So much TV, so little time!
