When are they doing an American version?

I think the show is great, but they should shoot it in American with topics that are more interesting to us.

C'mon Fox, pick it up.

And you read them...........
.................Then listed them!!!

What a laugh.

reply

If they pick it up, i hope they don't butcher it like they did with The Office.

I think the American Who's Line was prety good, so 10 Cats could work.
^..^

reply

Yeah I agree the US version of who line is it? was a lot better than the UK version, even though half of the cast are the same comedians. The host just explained everything so much, I think that's what the problem was.

Love 8 out of 10 cats though, I really don't think it would be as funny if the US done a version, they wouldn't be able to get away with talking about Bush the way we did about Blair. And sometimes the humor is a bit sick on this show; the things they make fun of. I just don't think Americans would be able to slag their own country the way we do ours.

reply

Who's line is it anyway rocks
although I liek the english one better rather then the American one

Maybe it was ment to be :)

I love my BritComs as much as the next US citizen, but I don't think this will fly as well. I think a few of the reasons this is such a great show is that they are free to saw whatever they want. If an inappropriate word comes out it's no big deal, and I find it unlikely that whatever station that would dare air it would allow the brutal skewing of celebrities that the original gets to do.
And we would not have Sean Lock, who rules that show.

reply

Yeah, it would be so hard to replicate in the US, and I don't see it happening.

I don't think it would be impossible though, but it would we would have to be miraculously lucky to get the show and for it to not be made sucky. First it would need to be on a station that gives them free reign to do and say whatever they want. If you can say the C word on shows like Curb Your Enthusiasm then surely there has to be 'some' freedom in US tv? So that would be the first challenge. But if you could get past that, then it could be made to work. The celebrities are easy to find and they tend to be interesting to watch and have a few funny moments. But the key of the whole show is just getting 3 good comedians, and America is full of great people. So long as they got 3 funny people who are also clever, and without egos, it could be great. And just imagine if they got some of the big guys! Chris Rock hah! And Louis CK, maybe Russell Peters. Or whatever.

Its a mainstream media propaganda reinforcement tool.

It distills the mainstream media talking points into a bullet list to throw back in your face with a thinly veiled covering of comedy which reinforces the propaganda.

Its very easy to get a mass of people to agree with a particular main stream point of view if you wrap it in fauxtainment.

Even the novel 1984 had a similar show where the news was distilled into 10 bullet points and quipped about, the moron proletariat was entertained and let the propaganda think for them instead of think for them self.

That's the entire meaning behind the political correctness movement. To eventually get everyone to have same thoughts, opinions, vocabulary, and to eventually eliminate all trace of bias and individualism from humans turning them into sheep.

Individualism requires bias and intolerance in certain self held beliefs, and no other has the right to force you to think someway else. That's why my opinion is the people behind political correctness should be executed as a parasite/plague/destruction of humanity and individualism.
