The President: Democrat or Republican?

Do you think the President was a Democrat or Republican?

reply

Does it matter to the story? If I was to guess, I would say he was a Republican. There really is nothing to go on, unless you count the President's fascination with history.

One point I have learned over the last 10 yrs, however, is that more Republicans are interested in studying history than Democrats. I don't know why this is, but it can be proven true by any large sampling poll. Republicans tend to believe that history can still provide guidance for solutions to present issues, whereas Democrats seem to want to ignore it and make decisions based on whatever is going on now. Neither way is particularly bad, I guess. Both methods have their strengths and weaknesses.

Republicans tend to be far more knowledgable in history, as such. They tend to rely on factual accounts written by historians and scientists (archeaologists and anthropologists specifically). I've talked to many Democrats whose response to historical issues was "who cares?".

reply

Wow your an idiot. Congrats on pulling your facts completely out of your ass. Republicans and facts are words that noirmaly do not go together. For example the current crop of Repulicans praise Reagan yet they choose to forget that during his term many during companies ceased to exist buring his terms, and a large number of people lost their jobs. Again you are a moron for everything you just posted. It really dosent matter what party the president is in during the movie because it is a freaking movie.

Another thing I've learned is that Democrats tend to resort to name-calling and subject-changing when they have no argument.

I must have hit a nerve with another Libtard sheep.

BTW, I've been to 6 corners of the US (SoCal, Washington, Oakland, Orlando, Groton CT, and Newport News VA). I've spoken at length about history and this country with more people than you will ever know due to my military job. Most Dems have NO CLUE about history. The average Democrat cannot answer questions about simple things like the documents that founded our nation. They cannot tell who were our Presidents during the Civil War or WW2. They cannot say who is the current Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court. They cannot tell me what the Emancipation Proclamation is.

Don't even try to outsmart me when it comes to history and politics. I'll eat you alive.

Challenge accepted!

P.S.: Who cares what party this president is from?

For crying out loud "would of", "should of", "could of" do NOT exist!

reply

BTW: You've been to the West coast and the Northeast which is not where one would find the typical Republican voters which are typically either the rich - there aren't very many of them - or white trash.
So, let's rather agree that the average US citzen generally doesn't know diddly-shi t about history or politics. Which is no surprise given the abysmal state of the educational system and the general unwillingness to spend any money on it.

Anyone see the irony with this statement?

Sit down, Shut up or I'll throw my stiletto at you.

"Anyone see the irony with this statement?"

Not really, it's just giving someone a taste of their own medicine.

Heh. I could have guessed, from that amusing praise of Republicans, before, that a slam such as "libtard" was coming! Which makes it even more amusing to claim it's Dems who are the ones to throw out insults when they have no argument (from where I sit, neither side has a monopoly on that).

The other poster started throwing out insults. What argument can you use against a non-argument???

reply

This guy died from COVID.

reply

That is incredibly biased and untrue. Sarah Palin and Michele Bachman come to mind! But of course, if I used these two morons as barometers for every republican I would be as stupid as you're being.

I would say Republican, simply because Lincoln was his favorite president and Randy Travis was singing at his party. Seems Republican to me, anyway. I don't think it matters at all to the story, though. It's a fictional president in a fictional movie.

He left Ben completely alone to do what he needed to do....in light of that, I say libertarian :-)

Well this president was depicted as being intelligent and coherent. So I will leave the interpretation of his political party entirely up to you.

That's just my two cents.

reply

Republican for sure. White dude, had a country singer at his party, from the South, loved history.

reply

That, and they say he has issues "connecting with minorities".
