Continuity problem

I don't know, but we just watched it..and feel really cheated by this film..
Sure it took a long time to get them on the boat... then finally, they are on the boat.. then bing/bang they are at Ellis Island.. 20 minutes in..the movie is finished.. Does anyone know if this movie was massively edited? We really got into the characters, and were left empty with what seemed a very badly cut ending...The film seemed unbalanced as the continuity was extremely off. And then picking Nina Simone wailing over the immigrants swimming in the river of milk.. sure, I get the river of milk analogy..but Nina Simone?
I would love to see a sequel so we know what happens to the Mancuso family and Miss Reed..and of course crusty Grandma.
I don't need no fancy foods like beans with ketchup!!

The movie was about the journey. The characters were fascinating - and I would like to see a sequel too. That's the test of a good movie, in my opinion: when you want to see a sequel, you're 'invested' in the characters.

You are way too demanding in what YOU want from the film. Not good for art at all, your attitude.
I hate DJ's, hate them with a passion. Only DJ's who compose their own music may be proverbially worth pissing on if they were on fire. And usually, my heroes are true artists - who write basically all their own stuff. But Nina Simone, how dare you, she is god. Maybe the mother of god. She might perform a lot of other people's songs, however, she has other, untouchable talents. You know she "emigrated" AWAY from the far-king USA, to Africa first and then France? Even without that interesting parallel, she is perfect for the parts. I would dare to say that she is the most listen-able singer of all time. Jump 2 iTunes - I downloaded a LOT of music, the next highest artist has 10 albums or so, she had 60 or so albums! Sure, many songs are doubled up, yet I just CANNOT reduce her collection, every single version and every different time she sings any song, she is enthralling - NO ONE's voice tells the stories that she does . . . look, I am so tempted to go on and on.
What the hell is your ignorant ar se problem with Nina Simone!?

This isn't a sequel type of film. I think you missed the point.
