I have to agree with that, which I guess is a compliment to the actors who played them. I think the reason why this movie wasn't well received is when you're doing a thick satire like this, you have to give your audience at least *one* normal person for sarcastic relief.
Believe it or not, it was the Bush character (Quaid) whom I felt most sympathetic toward. He was simply clueless. But everyone else was either a douchebag or a simpering rag. The effect is powerful, and the "un-hollywood" Hollywood ending was brilliant. But jeez, it was just exhausting to watch all those annoying characters for so long.
