I'd like to say that "The Graduate" was a defining movie.
As in terms of the 2000's, I don't believe that this will be a defining movie. I'd say more like "The Departed" and "The Lord of the Rings" movies.

hahahha barely anyones even heard of this movie...
The Thread is not about good or famous movies. it's about movies portraying its specific decade.
like also... "Reality Bites" or "Fight Club" in the 90s...
Even then I cannot see American Dreamz typifying that decade. Its just so easily forgettable.

And again, it doesnt matter if it is forgettable or not. Though, if thats the case, it fits perfect, since the first decade of the 21st century was in fact totally forgettable and a shame to live and/or grow up in.
